The BMW Car Club Gauteng held its AGM at Orexi in Aspen Hills yesterday evening. After a presentation that looked back on the past year and previewed what is to come, the new committee was elected. The committee is largely the same as last year, with a couple of additions.

Varish Ganpath remains as chairman, assisted by Vice-Chairman Colin van Son. Bernad De Gouveia will continue to look after the financial side of things. The various sub-committee chairs are listed below:

The third episode of the 2026 Season of Club TV goes live at 19h30 this evening. In it, we discover an unusual but very familiar place to get great pizzas, let lots of people loose on Zwartkops Raceway to see how fast they can go, and then take a look at the Race Series, showing how it should be done at Zwartkops.

After the Easter weekend, the second waterless skidpan event of the year takes place at BMW xDrive Park in Midrand. Entries are open. You can book your place for the event, which takes place on Saturday, 11 April, on the club website.

A week later, the action moves east to Red Star Raceway, where the second time-trial event of 2026 will take place on Sunday, 19 April. Entries for that event are also open, and you can secure your spot and get further details on the Race Series website.

The second round of the 2026 Skidpan Challenge takes place at BMW xDrive Park on Saturday, 11 April. The event is open to all makes of car, not just BMWs.
